The Woodland Garden
The Woodland Garden is coming into its best with rhododendrons, azeleas, magnolias, and a delightful ground cover of spring flowers and the tulips in the wild flower meadows are just peeping through.
New Family Explorer Challenge in Howick Arboretum
Children from Howick Estate Line up to take on the new Family Explorer Challenge. The red tape was cut by Mrs Audrey Jamieson, our Head Gardener's wife who was recently awarded the MBE for Services to Education, and Richard Wood who runs the Forest School at Howick. The 'nature trail' leads through the woodland walks and poses a number of questions on nature and wildlife and takes up to 2 hours to complete. (Look out for red squirrels, swans, herons and ducks!)
